The darkness who follows our every step,
our legs reach out, ready to step into the trap.
The being that speaks no words,
The being that walks upon our world.
Where the sun can never lit up this darkness,
instead, giving them power with aggressiveness.
Stretching upon the floor till the end of this world,
silently covering our trodden path without words.
Watching our movements,
copying them without any judgment.
Beings that exist in this world,
creating nightmares with our fear.
Our second being that walks with us,
to give them fear or to give them our trust?
This poem describes the shadows on the ground. Are they nightmares that feed upon our fears or beings that walk with us whom we can trust?

how the heck do you come up with these poems girl... nice nice
ReplyDeleteHey kathleen, you have really interesting poems. I like this one especially because it invoked my curiousity. May i know what inspires you to write like that?
ReplyDeleteJust take common everyday things and begin to wonder about them. Ask questions like "Why are they here?", "What is the point of their existence?". Those are some questions I asked myself for the Shadow poem.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, you just want to imagine yourself to be inside the poem. Once you have an understanding of what it's like, then you'll have a base to write a poem on.
~Kathleen
Very interesting poem, even though i hardly read poems, i feel that this is well written.
ReplyDeleteThe theme of quest for freedom runs strongly in your poems. Good that you can find release through your writing. Some interesting pieces, my dear. Keep up with the writing!
